World Championship Tournament 2006 

RAITA SPORT Co. Ltd. had full responsibility for dasher board design and delivery, cooling slab, ice making for the first time and also ice maintenance and resurfacing during the World Championships on the main facility, Arena Riga. The comments e.g. from players on boarding resiliency: Pretty good give! And the ice quality: Just beautiful! The comment from the arena owners: Thanks for the good work! This gives us the credit what we feel happy with.

Due to the prevailing rumors and disinformation we feel ourselves hereby forced to give a short statement regarding the ice situation at the World Championships in Riga, May 2006.

RAITA SPORT Co. Ltd. had none whatsoever participation nor responsibility for the ice nor the boarding system at Skonto Arena, where for example the game between Sweden and Switzerland was paused for more than an hour on May, 10. The reason for ice to break was mainly due wrong construction of the boarding.

Therefore, we wish that everyone hearing these rumors being spread by e.g. our competitors could kindly asked in these kinds of situations that the sources for information should be checked and their credibility to be questioned.
